I don't know if you guys have heard about it but this thing has been a media frenzy and he's even been in a live interview on Oprah Winfrey show. The first time i heard about it I thought what the hell is he thinking??? Is this the other sign of apocalypse? How in earth he will be able to grow the baby in his belly? He's known as Thomas Beatie a Hawaian if i'm not mistaken.
So, a bit of curiosity (kepoh la) I began a search about this guy over google and at last i found out what happen. " He " actually was a woman who underwent a sex change surgery to be a man. Phew!!! Thank god.
Thomas Beatie was born female but underwent a sexual reassignment procedure in order to become a man. He kept his female reproductive organs and became pregnant in 2007 by artificial insemination. Beatie gave birth to a daughter,Susan Juliet Beatie, on July 3, 2008.
Barbara Walters announced on The View onNovember 11, 2008, that Beatie was pregnant with his second child together with his wife Nancy Beatie.4 He gave birth to a baby boy on June 9, 2009, via natural childbirth.5 In February 2010, various news sources reported that the couple is expecting a third child and that Thomas Beatie is pregnant again.
Reassignment Procedures
Born Tracy LaGondino, Beatie reports that he fell in love with his wife, Nancy, while living in Hawaii. He underwent sex reassignment partially because same-sex marriages are not legal there.
Beatie had testosterone therapy and chest reconstruction surgery, but retained his female genitalia.
First Pregnancy and Birth
After marriage, the couple wanted to start a family, but Nancy was unable to conceive. Consequently, although Beatie is legally recognized as a male, he decided to carry a baby.
Beatie has stated it took him two attempts at artificial insemination to become pregnant effectively and safely, and that nine doctors were involved in the pregnancy.
Beatie reportedly went into labor early in the first week of July 2008, checking into a local Oregon hospital under an assumed name.5 After the July 3 birth, there were conflicting reports as to whether or not the delivery was done by Cesarean section. It has since been reported that Beatie had a natural birth.
Baby Photo
On July 24, 2008, a photo of Beatie and his newborn baby, Susan Juliette, accompanied an interview with Beatie in People Magazine. The photo was reportedly sold to the magazine for $300,000.
Second Child
Beatie gave birth to his second child, a baby boy, on June 9, 2009, via natural child birth. His wife, Nancy, reportedly plans to breast feed the baby.
This thing happen around year 2008 and the latest update he's waiting for his third child. Whatever it is, don't mess up with nature dude. You're gonna upset the guy's world dude.
